En X-MEN: FÉNIX OSCURA, los X-MEN se enfrentan a su enemigo más formidable y poderoso: uno de sus miembros, Jean Grey. Durante una misión de rescate en el espacio, Jean casi muere al ser alcanzada por una misteriosa fuerza cósmica.
